Basically girls tend to be more calm and patient, so they listen to the lessons more at younger age, thus paying more attention to hanwriting but there are some exceptions like gay boys have a good handwriting unlike tomboys have less clear handwriting.
There might be also psychological reasons, or physical development reasons, or even disability reasons. Human beings are very complicated, and many things can affect their handwriting, not just their sex, age or grade level.
